Zachary Wallace Garrison was born on February 23, 1989 in College Station, Texas. He lived in Mumford with Mom and Dad until age 3, when he moved to Gause. His life was forever changed when his little sister Abby was born a year later and he was forced to share his world with her. He attended Gause School from PreK to 6th Grade, played soccer, peewee football and t-ball and was a member of the Gause 4H, attended Milano School and was a member of FFA until his graduation in 2007, and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Zach showed goats in the county fair and a steer in Houston. One of the fun memories of his freshman year in high school was when he wrestled and caught a steer at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, earning a scholarship to bring one back to show the next year.
Zach had the kindest heart and a beautiful smile. He was a private and quiet guy with a great sense of humor who enjoyed his beloved dogs, fishing, hunting, driving a truck, family beach vacations and birthday celebrations. He loved good food, especially pizza, hot wings, Blue Bell ice cream and queso and enchiladas from Mary’s.
On February 28, 2024, Zach shed his earthly pain and made his exit from this world. Today and forever he flies free. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with those who knew him and will be missed dearly. He is survived by parents Clayton and Mary Carol Garrison of Gause, sister Abby Garrison, Grandmother Ruth Garrison, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
We would be honored if friends and family could please contribute to HOPE Animal Shelter at 1309 S. Market St., Hearne, Texas or to the Gause Cemetery Association. Thank you for the thoughts and prayers for Zach and the Garrison family.
