William (Bill) Lloyd Shores

William (Bill) Lloyd Shores, Jr, of Calvert, Texas passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024. 

Bill was born on May 15, 1955, to Lloyd and Joy Shores in Irving, Texas.  After completing school, he started a career with NCR that lasted 35 years. He was an amazing employee, always traveling long distances for work and being on call the majority of the time, but always had time for his family.  When he was not at his job, he was always finding something to work on at home. 

In February of 1990, Bill met his future wife Candy, and they were married later that year in November. In this unification he adopted two sons.  Brandon and Beau who were always treated as his own children. 

Bill loved working with his tractor any chance he got, being an all-around handyman, fishing, woodworking, and animals.  His favorite being his horse Quigley. Bill also took great pride in being a jack of all trades. But, most of all he loved his family and would do anything for them if it was within his means. Bill was the most selfless person anybody could hope to meet. If you needed anything all you had to do was ask. 

Later in life Beau and Beverly gave him a grandson, Dylan. Soon thereafter Brandon and Chrystal blessed him with two more grandsons, Hayden and Hunter.

Bill started having medical issues starting in 2008 including stem cell transplant in 2010.  The issues took a turn for the worse approximately 2 years ago. No matter how bad things had gotten, being the selfless man he was, he battled every day to spend more time with family and make sure he did not leave life wondering how everybody would be. 

On March 29 he finally accepted his invitation to be with the Lord. 

He would want everybody to remember the good times that we had with him and to not feel sorry for him.  He would want us to know he is now at peace and without pain.  He will forever be loved and sorely missed for being the amazing person he was.

Bill is survived by his mother Joy, wife Candy, sons Brandon and Beau, grandsons Hayden, Hunter and Dylan, daughters-in-law Chrystal and Beverly.

A Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held at noon on May 11 at 1011 E Texas St.  in Calvert, Texas.
