Ronny Robert Mahan passed away on July 21st, 2022, at the age of 78 at his home in Sutton, TX. He was a lifelong resident of the Sutton community in Robertson County, Tx. Ronny retired from the United States Postal Service in Hearne, Tx, after walking a mail route for 34 years. He also served in the US Army during the Tet Offensive of 1968, delivering mail to soldiers no matter where they were. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Tennie Ruth McCarver Mahan, son Ronny Dale Mahan, parents Philen and Myrtle Mahan, and brother Terry Mahan.

Ronny left behind many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. A few of those that he held dear are Bobby and Cara Freeman, Randy and Debbie Werner, Harris Williams, Bud Bishop, Weldon Kirk, Howard Watson, Wayne Lange and Hank Melhorn.  He also made some new friends who made his last months more comfortable; Tarneshia, or as he liked to call her “Lisa”, Cicely, Britney and Shameka. And a special thank you to everyone at Amedisys Hospice Care.

Ronny lived a full life dedicated to his faith in God, his family and to fishing and hunting. He will be greatly missed but we know that he is in a better place and free from this life’s struggles.

Memorial Funeral home in Hearne, Tx will be handling his arrangements. There will be a private graveside service for his close friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Five Points Baptist Church or Amedisys Hospice Care.
