Richard Anthony Trujillo Jr. passed away on October 30, 2023 at 03:32 p.m. with his family by his side. 

He was born to Richard and Maria Trujillo on June 10, 1968, in Hearne, Texas. 

Ricky graduated from Hearne High School, class of 1986 and then went on to University of Texas. After going to school he decided to serve his country by proudly joining the United States Navy, where he served for 8 years. He served during Desert Storm and Desert Shield and visited over 25 countries while earning the Naval Enlisted Service Warfare Service Designation Award, the Naval National Defense Medal, South West Asia Service Medal with Bronze Star and the Naval Sea Service Award Medal, Naval Good Conduct Award and he was named Naval Athlete of the Year, Fleet Deception Group and Commendation Letter from the Joint Chiefs of Staff for participation in special project EIDELON LANCE. 

After the military, he went back to college at Stephen F. Austin State University where he played football and baseball. He was a member of the SFA playoff football team of 1995. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communications in 2002.

Ricky was a career educator and coach and touched many young lives. 

He was an amazing father and popo who loved taking pictures of everything and everyone. He loved all his family and friends, and truly lived life to the fullest. He never met a stranger and was kind to everyone he met. He will be remembered as being a good cook, “uncle goofy” to his nieces and nephews and having the best funny sayings. He was very detailed oriented and passionate and was a sharp dresser and loved to dance. He was a great athlete and loved going to support his family at all their endeavors. 

He is preceded in death by his mother and grandparents. 

He is survived by his father, Richard Trujillo Sr., his son Richard Trujillo III and his wife Paige, Daughter Dora Ruiz and her husband David Ruiz Jr., sons Ryan and Ryder Trujillo, his grandchildren, Austin, Slone, Justice, and Trae, his siblings, Randy Trujillo, Rudy Trujillo and wife Katie, Robert Trujillo, Rebecca Gordon and husband Tripp, Rhonda Rodriguez and her husband Mark and numerous nieces and nephews.
