Rene Charles Ferrell

January 21, 1971 — July 29, 2023

Franklin

Rene Charles Ferrell the II was born January 21st 1971 in Corpus Christi Texas and passed July 29 2023 in Bryan Texas at the age of 52. He was a long time resident of Franklin Texas.

Rene is preceded in death by his mother Gail Dearing, He is survived by his daughter Tori Mendoza (Alex), granddaughters Rena and Aurora Mendoza, parents Rene C Ferrell (Candice), and brother Rex Rencher (Stacy) Rene graduated from Richard King High-school in 1989. Following that Rene joined the Air National Guard and served from December 7, 1990 to December 6, 1998 earning an honorable discharge. Rene graduated from the police academy in 1994 where he was then employed with Nueces County Sheriff Department. Rene later relocated to central Texas to work for the Hearne Police Department. Following that he continued serving the community with the Franklin Police Department for the next 20 years. Along side being a police officer he was also Assistant Chief of the Franklin Volunteer Fire Dept. During that time, Rene also completed his licensing as a paramedic. He served the community by working with Robertson County EMS and later became the opperations manger for CHI St Joseph. He was a member of the Free Masons. Although he was a devoted public servant he still found time to engage in many life long hobbies such as bowling, Dungeons and Dragons, knife making, comic books and engaging in all things nerdy. He was an active member in the Cedar Creek gun club. But what he truly loved doing was spending time with those he cared about may it be visiting comic con, playing domino's, hunting, jumping rc trucks out in the yard, or cooking an amazing plate of food and sending you a picture just to rub it in. Those who knew Rene knew him as a tough, yet loving member of the community who you could go to for honesty, advice, and in times of need even a shoulder to lean on. He was someone you could count on to have your back, but also someone you could count on to fool with you all the time. His sense of humor in life wa

s unparralled and something that brought smiles to many people's faces. He will truly be missed.

Please join us in Celebrating the life of Rene Ferrell following this ceremony at Franklin Fire station 2 where we will be serving food and drinks and reminiscing about the the impacts Rene has made in all of our lives.
