Nancy Woodall Edwards

Nancy Woodall Edwards, age 78 of Calvert, Tx peacefully passed away at Crossroads Nursing Facility in Hearne Tx, surrounded by family, January 3, 2025. She was deeply loved by her family and friends. Her contagious smile and quick wit will be truly missed by all that knew her. 

Nancy was born on March 8, 1946, in Marlin, Tx to her parents John Robert “Bob” Woodall, Sr. and Ethel Bennie Smitherman Woodall. She was raised in Daisetta, Tx, Buras LA, and Calvert, Tx, where she graduated from Calvert High School in 1964. Nancy was a talented basketball player and a cheerleader for the Calvert High School Trojans. 

Nancy was known for her immaculate house, loved to bake and made the most fantastic pecan pie you have ever tasted. Nancy loved the holidays, this was evident by way of her elaborate decorating, with Christmas being her favorite. Her grandchildren meant the World to her and she enjoyed celebrating the holidays with them. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Robert “Bob” Woodall, Sr.; Ethel Bennie Smitherman Woodall; and Nancy’s younger brother, John Robert “John Bob” Woodall, Jr.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Gary of 47 years; son Craig Leath and wife Kathy; son Jeremy Edwards and wife Christine. Grandchildren Haven Leath, Kason Leath, Christopher Edwards, Anna (Pascual) Sotelo, Nicole (Dannie) Portillo; Great-Grandchildren Chloe Uvalle, Nayelih Sotelo, Adrian Rocamontes and Sebastian Cortes.
