Marcos Blanco Salgado

MARCOS BLANCO SALGADO, of Hearne, Tx went to live and rejoice with the Lord on July 10, 2022

Marcos was born on October 1, 1955 in Bejucal, Cuba to Manuel Diaz Salgado and Aida Galvez Blanco.

He graduated college in Cuba before starting his journey to the United States. Coming from a very large family of 25 brothers and sisters in Cuba to start his own in the United States.

After following work to Bryan where he worked Bryan construction for years not knowing much english before meeting the love of his life, Thelma Jane Ward, which to this day still doesn’t know Spanish.

After meeting the love of his life, he was forced to learn english thanks to Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor, he learned pretty quick.

Marcos and Thelma were married on June 17, 1984.

After years of being a mechanic, he decided to go work the City of Hearne where he worked for over 25 years.

He loved his family, friends and animals. He also enjoyed fishing, trail rides, rooster fights, bbqing and would give the shirt off his back to a stranger.

He was survived by his wife, Thelma Salgado of Hearne, son and daughter in law, Richard and Sherrie Dawson of Hearne, grandson Marcus Dawson of Hearne and grand daughter Lillian Dawson of Dallas and many beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Diaz Salgado and Aide Galvez Blanco, son Robert Dawson, daughter in law Crystal Dawson, grandchildren Delania Dawson, Cheyennah Dawson and Richard Dawson Jr., and many other relatives.
