On February 1, 2025, at the age of seventy-seven, Linda Jean Hindman Schoonover, lovingly known as "Mimi Bo", passed away. Linda was born on May 21st, 1947, in Orange Texas, and was a native of Hearne Texas who lived a life characterized by love, strength, and resilience.
Linda was a true fighter. As a breast cancer survivor, she met every challenge life presented with courage. Even in her last struggle against stage 4 bone cancer, she showed an extraordinary determination to persevere, clinging to life with a strength that motivated everyone who knew her.
Professionally, Linda spent many years as an accountant at Texas A&M's Physical Plant, where she worked until her retirement. However, her true calling was gardening. Linda's passion for flowers extended beyond mere appreciation; she turned it into a family business, establishing a gardening and landscaping company with her family that they operated together for a decade. Her enthusiasm for plants was not just about aesthetics but also about cultivating life and telling wisdom to her loved ones.
She survives with her beloved daughter, Cindy Wright; her loving granddaughter Amanda Wright; and her four cherished great-grandchildren, Trenton, Aaliyah, Giovanni, and Cheyenne. She was the heart of her family, always leading by example her independence, strength, and wisdom.
Linda will be remembered not only for her beauty-her striking blonde hair and blue eyes— but for her unwavering spirit, the love she poured into her family, and the treasured memories of summer vacations spent together.
A tribute to her life is scheduled for Saturday, February 8th, at The First Baptist Church in Calvert, Texas. If anyone would like to help pay for funeral services, please make checks payable to the family. The family also wants to suggest planting a living tribute in her honor, a gesture reflecting her deep-seated love for growth and beauty.
