Linda Sue Gordon

Linda Sue Gordon went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the age of 78. She spent her last moments surrounded by family and the love of her life of 62 years, Steve. Sue was born in Lott, Texas, on October 18, 1945, to Kirk Elliott and Elizabeth McCreary Elliott.

She married the man of her dreams, Stephen Michael Gordon on January 16, 1962, at a small church in Perry, Texas. They built their family home on Gordon Hill in Hearne, Texas, where they resided for 56 years. Sue spent the majority of her career working for the Hearne Medical and Surgical Clinic and then moved on to assist Dr. Mitchell in Bryan, Texas, as an Insurance Specialist.

Sue was a caring soul whose greatest love was her family. She was a very devoted and supportive Mom and MooMom as evidenced by her attendance at numerous sporting events and academic activities for the past 60 years. Her home was decorated with fabulous treasures that she loved to find on antiquing adventures for their flea market booths and shops. Sue always had a bright smile on her face when roaming the pasture on the Ranger to check the cows. She had a few extra special ones that she picked out that were just hers, including her precious Lilly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kirk and Elizabeth Elliott; her brother, James Darrell Elliott; sister, Sherry Joan Cunningham, and great-grandchildren Everly and Koda Gordon.

Sue leaves behind, to love and cherish her memory, her husband, sons and daughters-in-law Stephen Gordon Jr. and Priscilla of Hearne; Barry and Janet Gordon of Snook; and daughter and son-in-law Dane’ and Ronald Ellison of Hearne; sister-in-law, Gloria Elliott of Easterly; 10 grandkids; 21 great-grandkids; many nieces and nephews; and her two loving fur-babies, Bud and Peeju.

Services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne, Texas. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. with the service beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Norwood Cemetery, Hearne, Texas. Keith Sanders will officiate
