Edith Irene Smith

Edith Irene Smith passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Saturday, October 26 2024, at the age of 100 years, 7 months and 15 days.

She was born on March 11, 1924, in Houston, Texas to Charles A and Edna Frank McCracken.

On November 1, 1951, she married the love of her life, Carvin W. Smith, Sr., and together they shared over 48 years of marriage.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, five sisters and two stepsons.

Edith is survived by her son, Carvin W. Smith Jr., and his wife Paulette, two grandsons, 4 granddaughters and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

She was employed by Hughes Tool Company for over 30 years as a welder.

She was an active member of Gause Baptist Church for almost 40 years.

Edith loved baking and was known for her famous Pecan Pies. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing and hunting.

She was a kind and loving mother, grandmother and friend to all. She will be dearly missed by all she leaves behind.
