Clyde Gene Kilgore age 79 passed away on March 1, 2022 at his home in Robertson County from a nine month battle with lung cancer.
Clyde was born in Chilton, Texas on December 22, 1942 to Claude Kilgore and Emma Swanner.
His family later moved to Marlin, Texas where he met his love of his life, Alice Faye Endsley. Clyde and Alice married on April 7th of 1961. He later joined the army and was stationed in Germany where Alice
accompanied him.
Clyde was then deployed and fought and served in the Vietnam/Korean war.
He held the rank of a drill sergeant. Clyde served a term of eight years. After serving his term, Clyde and Alice moved to Hearne, Texas, where they had a daughter Robin Rachelle.
Clyde became a truck driver and drove for many years. In 1983 Clyde was employed with Coastal Transportation and drove for this company until his retirement in 2009.
Clyde enjoyed spending time with his family, and watching his great grandchildren.
He loved watching old westerns, the Wild channel and Dr Pol on the National Geographic channel.
He was a member and baptized at the Robertson County Cowboy Church in Franklin, Texas.
Clyde is survived by his daughter Robin Johnson and son-in-law Joe. Grandchildren Alicia Marie Carroll and husband James, Katilyn Michelle Gardner, Charles Allen Smith Jr (Thumper), Garrett Smith, Grant Smith and Summer LaFountain.
Three great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Hunter, and Gage. Brother Don Kilgore, sisters Maryann Douglas, Dorothy McElhaney, Ruth Ward and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice Faye, mother Emma Marie Kilgore, father Claude Kilgore, brothers Claude Kilgore Jr, Ralph Kilgore and William Kilgore.
