Brenda Ann Cross (Evans)

Brenda Ann Cross (Evans), age 77, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 13th, 2022 at 5:40 p.m. in Jarrell, Texas.

She was born in Marlin Texas, to Williams Leonard Evans Sr.

and Clara Belle Evans (Bishop).

She was raised in Hearne, Texas and attended school there until 11th grade. At the age of 18 years married Curtis G. Barnett in December 1963. Together they started a family and raised 3 children.

 She worked as a telephone operator for a few years in Hearne and then started being a homemaker again. She was active in Elliott Baptist Church for years making sure her children “learned about the Lord.”  She lived in Franklin, Texas with her late husband Sylvester Cross for many years. 

The last 8 years of her life she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren which was a great joy for her. She loved shopping and buying things for the grandchildren and making sure everyone had a nice birthday cake on their day.

She is preceded in death by her father William Leonard Evans Sr., and her mother Clara Belle Evans, as well as her late husband Sylvester Cross.

She is survived by her children Timothy Barnett Sr., Tammy Barnett and Terri Barnett Hall, her brother William Leonard Evans Jr., 3 grandchildren, Timothy Barnett Jr., Danielle Barr and husband Nick and Kristen Flores and husband Andy, as well as 9 great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Kadence, Evan, Savannah, Liberty, Jackson and 1 on the way

She will be remembered as a strong woman who fought to the end. She loved the Lord and all her family and friends. We know she is gone from this earth and is no longer with us, but we rejoice knowing she is with her heavenly father.
