Barbara Wallace of Bryan, TX died peacefully in her country home in Robertson County on March 2nd, 2024, after a long bout with cancer. Barbara was born in Memphis, TN on June 13th, 1948, and graduated from Treadwell High school before meeting her future husband Patrick, who was attending school at Naval Air Technical Training Unit in Millington, TN.
Patrick and Barbara were married on July 8th, 1967. Patrick made a career of the U.S. Navy, and Barbara traveled with him to various duty stations including locations in San Diego California, Millington Tennessee, Patuxent River Maryland, Guam Marianas Islands (twice) and Kingsville Texas.
After Patrick retired from the U.S. Navy, Barbara worked as an administrative assistant at the Plant Pathology Department at Texas A&M University for many years before retiring in 2005.
After she retired, Barbara and Pat divided their time between their country home in Robertson County, and their second home on Lake Limestone. Barbara enjoyed fishing, sewing, raising goats, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father Fred Mahr of California, her mother Melba Cody of Memphis, TN, and brother Rick Mahr of Memphis, TN.
She is survived by her husband Patrick, sister Brenda White, son Joseph and his wife Jeane, granddaughter Hope, grandson Jackson and his wife Victoria, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory in Hearne, TX are handling arrangements.
