Audentha (Dentha) Adell Hay

Audentha Adell Hay, 84 of Hearne (Blackjack Community), Texas went to be with her Lord on December 16, 2022.

She passed away peacefully with family by her side listening to her favorite song, Old, Old Path.

“Dentha” loved her dog, Tink. She also loved sewing, crafting, jewelry making and most recently, coloring every day.

She loved to share her creations with others.

She also loved to talk on the phone with Kenneth and Nella June every day and frequently other special friends.

She grew up in Blackjack where she attended school in the country and then in Hearne and was a lifetime member of the RLDS Church, currently known as the Community of Christ Church.

Audentha loved children and served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years and attended church camp as long as she was able.

Audentha is survived by sister-in-law, Anna Hay, her brothers Kenneth Hay and his wife Jeryl Lynn, Don Hay and his wife Sheran. Other family include nieces and nephews: Lynn Hay and Blaine Koonce, Cynthia Butler and Michael, Elizabeth Rodda and George, Kevin Hay and Tamara, Kandice Trujillo and Manny, Gary Hay and Rebecca, Kelly Hay and Elizabeth Bonifield, Derrick Keyes and Cricket, Dennis Keyes and Rachel. Dentha had 10 great nieces and 11 great nephews, 2 great-great nieces, and 6 great-great nephews.

Audentha is preceded in death by her parents Hardy and Ozella Hay, brother Wayne Hay, grandmother Maud “Pampy” Hay, grandfather Wade Harmon, and grandmother Bessie Harmon, along with numerous aunts, uncles, one nephew,  and one great nephew.

Pallbearers are Kevin Hay, Gary Hay, Michael Butler, George Rodda, Christopher Butler, and Steven Rodda.
